We are going to be here for the next week exploring the
region on bikes. Its kinda nice with mountains towering above us as we look out
to the Mediterranean some 20 kms away. Its quiet. The local village is sleepy
and at this time of the year we are the only crazy tourists. English is not
well understood and Google translate app is great.
But I rush ahead of myself and you will hear more of this
place later in this blog.
As you will have appreciated by now we survived the flight. The
airbus A380 was very comfortable and the seats quite generous even in cattle
class.
It was great to have Isaac meet us at the airport in Barcelona
and after a bit of mucking around we eventually sorted the car, loaded the
bikes on and drove to Valencia.
Bed was great. ……. But let’s be honest, after 40hrs upright anything
flat was going to be good.
Isaac took Monday off and we had our own personal guide
first on foot then later on bikes after reassembled them on the footpath.
Isaac appreciation of not just the language but the culture
behind the language shows the value of living in an immersed environment. That
the name is not just a set of guttural sounds to mimic so another can
understand you but it has a meaning… a history in its being.
This morning before heading south we went out to Isaac’s
work. Wow! very impressive and I was a little bit envious as we quickly switch
into the discussions of job costing, production planning, product pricing
and cultural accommodations’. What a
site, what a challenge.
